Aspen McMillan, MA, LAPC, is a National Certified Counselor (NCC), passionate about guiding individuals toward self-discovery and healing. She earned her BA in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from Rowan University in South Jersey. At Rowan, she excelled as a 5x All-American on the Women’s Track and Field team, served on the NCAA Division III Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, and set the university’s indoor 60-meter hurdle record. She later received her Mater's of Clinical Counseling from the CACREP-accredited counseling program at Northwestern University.
In 2025, Aspen founded Honesty Heals LLC, which birthed from the belief that honesty is the key to healing. In a world that often shames or denies our unique human experiences, our ability to connect starts to feel impossible when it shouldn't have to. Facing our truths—both the beautiful and the difficult—can be uncomfortable, but it is in that honesty where real growth and connection begins.
Aspen continues to learn that we all have more in common than we like to admit at times. She believes in taking time to uncover the details that made you who you are. Healing with honesty has helped clients identify and manage anxiety, depression, trauma, body image concerns, sports performance, social skills, self-esteem, coping strategies, life transitions, racial disparities and generational cycles.
Personal growth isn’t easy—it requires deep self-reflection, awareness, and consistency. Aspen is honored to travel the journey with her clients as they uncover their true selves and full potential, supporting them every step of the way.
"I come from a family that you could say is... dynamic. My parents divorced when I was very young. I grew up with my biological brother, my brothers by adoption, my mother and my great grandmother who lived with us for some time. It was a full house to say the least. My father re-married, so I also have a step-mother. Going back and forth between the two households quickly became my normal. As the eldest and only girl, I often understood the family dynamic more than what people realized but didn't really have anyone talk to or be honest with. Although there was a lot going on, my parents instilled in me that I can do or be anything I put my mind to, so dreaming became a safe space. As a young Black girl facing my own complicated struggles, I became fascinated with psychology and dreamed of creating the kind of support I needed but for others. Eventually, I decided to be what I was missing, and this started my journey toward becoming a therapist."
"I love the city but I'm a Jersey/Suburban Girl at heart! I grew up in central New Jersey and attended high school there, which was a melting pot of cultures (and almost felt like an episode of Degrassi). I've spent many summers riding my bike to 7-Eleven, taking trips to Six Flags or beaches on the east coast. Anywhere near water is a happy place for me."
"I enjoy writing poetry, volleyball, family time, running, fashion, photography, food, traveling, culture, thrillers... the list goes on as I continue on my own path of healing and growth.

I welcome all genders and orientations to healing and growth with Honesty Heals. I seek to understand through the lens of your culture so I invite you to share your spiritual beliefs and practices so we can incorporate those into our healing work as well.
My individual counseling services are designed to help you identify your strengths, interests, and values to overcome personal challenges and achieve your goals. Psychodynamic, IFS parts work and holistic therapy provide an all-encompassing approach to explore your true thoughts and feelings. These insights into your past and behaviors will help develop strategies for positive change.
Being that I have an extensive sports history, I am thrilled to work with athletes through their own mental health journey via talk therapy online. I understand the importance of alignment between mind, body and soul in order to reach peak performance in sports and life. The uncertainty can be difficult to navigate, but there is no mental block too big to overcome. Much like physical training, research proves that coaching your mind is just as impactful to your athletic ability!
Family counseling is an opportunity to talk through the hard but necessary conversations needed for true healing within the family. This is also a good option for individuals who are already in individual therapy with me and want to work through conflict with family member(s).
Couples counseling services can help you and your partner(s) improve communication, resolve conflicts, and build a stronger relationship. Whether you are facing challenges related to intimacy, trust, or other issues, I can unbiasedly help expand your perspectives and achieve greater depth in your relationship. All sex explorers and relationship types are welcome!
Group therapy sessions will occur only a few times a year for a set number of weeks. Healing and growth in a group setting is a one-of-a-kind experience, very distinct from individual counseling. I have a natural skill in cultivating and facilitating inclusive, yet unique groups that are focused on vulnerability, building trust, and making deeper connections.
A community blog forum and #AskAspen (free therapy tips) are two interactive features coming soon to my website! Stay tuned!
Many people hesitate to face hard truths, fearing discomfort or judgment. But here’s the thing—honesty only promotes healing and growth when used in a way that is kind, not harmful.
